Explore Los Gatos, California

Los Gatos is a city near San Jose, California in the foothills of the Santa Cruz mountains. It is guarded by two mountain ridges, El Sombroso (the shadowing one) and El Sereno (the night watchman). Los Gatos is the northern terminus of a scenic 38 mile stretch of SR 17 to Santa Cruz. Enjoy the Los Gatos Creek Trail, a multi-use pathway that runs for 9 miles and on to San Jose or hike to Castle Rock Falls and the Interpretive Center, which is 5.5 miles round trip.

Maps for a self-guided walking tour of historic sites are available at the Chamber of Commerce. Shopping areas include the Oldtown, on University Avenue, with its many restored buildings of Spanish and Victorian architecture, with shops, restaurants and an outdoor amphitheater.

The San Francisco International airport is 40 miles north of Los Gatos and the San Jose International airport is about 10 miles away.
